1. Who we are

Smriti is a compliance deadline reminder service operated by Hosto. This policy explains what data we collect from you, why, and what we do (and do not) do with it. If you have any questions, email us at support@hosto.app.

2. What we collect

We try to collect as little as possible, only what we need to send you accurate reminders:

• ✓Your account email address, used to sign you in and to send reminders.
• ✓Your company name, used to label your reminders and dashboard.
• ✓Your entity type (Pvt Ltd, LLP or OPC) and date of incorporation, used to compute which statutory filings and due dates apply to you.
• ✓Recipient email addresses you add (such as your CA or team), used only to send them the same reminders.
• ✓Compliance flags you set (for example whether you are GST-registered or have employees), used to include or exclude the right filings.
• ✓Basic technical logs (such as delivery status of emails) needed to operate the service reliably.

3. How we use your data

We use your data for one core purpose: to remind you and the people you choose about your company's statutory deadlines. Concretely, that means mapping your entity and incorporation date to the right compliance calendar, scheduling reminders at 30, 15, 7, 3, 1 and 0 days before each due date, and emailing those reminders to you and your recipients. We may also use your account email to send you important service messages.

4. What we do not do

• ✕We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
• ✕We do not rent or trade your email address with advertisers.
• ✕We do not file anything on your behalf or access government portals using your data.
• ✕We do not ask for or store financial figures, PAN, bank details or filing credentials.

5. Service providers

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run Smriti, such as hosting and email delivery services. These providers process data only on our instructions and only to the extent needed to deliver the service (for example, an email provider needs a recipient address to deliver a reminder). We do not authorise them to use your data for their own purposes.

6. Data retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active so we can keep sending reminders. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by emailing us from your account address at support@hosto.app. We will action deletion requests within a reasonable period, subject to any record we must retain by law.

7. Your choices

You can update your company details, recipients and compliance flags at any time from your dashboard, and you can remove a recipient to stop their reminders. You can also request a copy of the data we hold about you.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to this policy we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of Smriti after a change means you accept the updated policy.
