1. The service
Smriti, operated by Hosto, is a reminder service. It maps the statutory compliance calendar for your company based on the entity type and date of incorporation you provide, and emails reminders to you and the recipients you add ahead of each due date. By creating an account or using Smriti, you agree to these terms.
2. Reminders are not legal or tax advice
Smriti is an informational reminder tool. The due dates, forms, penalties and notes shown are general information, not legal, accounting or tax advice, and they do not create a professional-client relationship. Statutory dates and rules change often (the MCA and CBDT issue circulars and extensions), and whether a particular filing applies to you depends on facts only you and your advisor know. Always confirm each deadline and requirement with your CA, CS or other qualified professional before acting or filing.
3. We remind, you file
Smriti does not file anything on your behalf and does not access government portals. Filing the actual forms on the MCA, GST or Income Tax portals is your responsibility (or your CA's). You are responsible for the accuracy of the company details and flags you enter, since those determine which reminders you receive.
4. Provided as is
Smriti is provided on an as is and as available basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every date or note is complete or current. Email delivery depends on third parties and cannot be guaranteed, so you should not rely on Smriti as your only safeguard against missing a deadline.
5. Free-tier terms
Smriti is currently offered free for your first year from the date you sign up, with no credit card required and no automatic charge. We may change pricing in the future, but we will give you advance notice by email before any charge applies, and you can choose not to continue. We may also modify, suspend or discontinue features of the free tier with reasonable notice.
6. Acceptable use
You agree to use Smriti only for its intended purpose and only with email addresses you are authorised to add. Do not attempt to disrupt, abuse, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the service. We may suspend or close accounts that misuse Smriti.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hosto and Smriti are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any penalties, interest, late fees or losses arising from a missed, delayed or incorrect filing, whether or not a reminder was sent or received. Smriti is a convenience, not a guarantee, and the responsibility for meeting your statutory obligations remains with you and your advisors.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will update the date at the top, and material changes may be notified by email. Continued use of Smriti after a change means you accept the updated terms.
